"This one is in every Joe girl's top five. It has lots of emotionally suffering Joe (ESJ) and a wonderful JPM. And some really gorgeous closeups. And Joe kickin' ass. He is gorgeous. His hair is gorgeous. Perfection." - Bunwhisper "This is definitely in my top 5 episodes...and I gave it a 5!" - Dodo "This is such a fantastic episode on so many levels.... the storyline was full of Joe angst, and he looked darn good grappling with it! And I think that the JPM in this episode is one of the best in the entire series but is underrated by many. A 5 in my book for sure!" - DonnaB "Joe showed a lot of emotion and angst in this episode. But he was also very sweet to his old friend, Sarah. I thought it was a very thought-provoking episode. I do think the writers took the easy way out when they showed that Seth's motive for killing Sarah's father was to get gold, and not just to end his suffering. Of course, this also made it less controversial; no one could argue that Seth did the right thing when his motives were so mercenary." - Ellen "I gave this one a 5. It's one of my favorite Joe episodes. Even this Adam girl appreciates a good Joe Angst episode now and then. - Indyanna130 "I must admit my favorite parts are the Cartwrights singing "Sweet Betsy from Pike" and Adam in that robe! I also like the scenes between Adam and Joe. Looking at the episode now, I would agree with Ellen that the writers took the easy way out." - Deborah "I suppose that when you only have 48 minutes to set up and resolve this kind of issue, it's a real temptation to shut it down easily, but it still would have been interesting if they'd left it with the more complex issue as originally framed and actually made everybody address it that way." - pjb |
