The Stillness Within

"This is one of a handful great post season six episodes. Everything about it was great. Michael Landon in my opinon gave his best Bonanza perfromance in this episode. The only thing what could of made it better if Adam was in it." - fanofoldtvshows

"This is an excellent episode. Loads of Joe angst and JPMs. Joe also looks extremely HOT in the scene on the porch. What, do you expect like deep, pithy commentary from me? You should know better!" - bunwhisper

"This is on my "Favorite" favorites list - that's how much I like it. I would love to see the parts that Hallmark cut out. " - jamiejoe

"Got to be ML's finest hour as Ingally Joe. His performance should have gained him an Emmy....but I guess it just wasn't 'cool' to give out awards for a western in those days.

I only wish they hadn't rushed it...would have been much better as a two-parter....letting Joe actually leave the Ponderosa to attend blind school before he recovered his sight. What a touching JPM farewell that would have given us!

Got to give it a 5." - Dodo

"Actually, that's why I gave it a 4.5 - it's fabulous, but they tried to do too much in 48 minutes. They really did need to spread it out over two eps. If they'd done that, I'd give it a 5+!" - pjb

"This is one of my favorites of the "after" Adam years, and also among my all-time favorites, as well...

Lorne, Dan, and of course, Michael and Jo Van Fleet were just outstanding in this gem of a Bonanza." - BonanzaBuddy

"My take on this episode is a 5! It's really good, but those two scenes where Joe is outside when its raining...Also the ending was so very touching. Makes me want to cry. I think I actually did the first time I watched it." - SNlover09

"I gave this episode a 5.

One of my favorites because of the powerful acting performances. One of the other things I really like about this episode is the love between Ben, Hoss and Joe that is shown in this episode...the worry, the concern, the desire to help, and then the tears when he gets his eyesight back. Just perfect!" - LJ_Gal

"I love this episode! I think that Jo Van Fleet and Michael did an amazing job together...the relationship between Joe and Miss Dobbs was simply amazing.

The rain scene is a top Emotionally Suffering Joe moment for sure. A Five Star episode in my book!" - DonnaB
