Technical Issues and Support - Board Features
Personal Messaging (PM)
If you are sending personal messages back and forth to other members of the board, please be sure that you check your allowed space in your personal messages box.
Once you reach 100% capacity, you will no longer be able to receive messages from members until you delete old PM's.
If a member tries to send a PM to a member, and the member that they are trying to send to has a full box, the member trying to send the PM will get a message saying that their PM cannot be sent.
The capacity of your PM box will include Inbox and sent messages if you request to have one saved.
Be sure to purge old PM's that you no longer require so that should someone want to send you a PM, they will be able to do so.
There is a tracker at the top of your control panel showing how many PMs you currently have in your inbox, and how much percentage of space you have used.
Adding a Customer Member Title
Above the Badges you will see that you have a "Custom Member Title". You cannot change this until you have posted at least 10 times. When you are able to change it go to "My Controls" (link under
"Logged in as:" at top of page). When you are in "My Controls", scroll down to "Personal Profile" in the menu on the left hand side. Click on "Edit Profile info" and a page will appear with where you can change your
"Custom Member Title" at the top.
Front Page Navigation
On the main page of the board, the main forums are listed. Sub-forums are also listed and these can be clicked on to take you directly to the sub-forum.
Java Runtime Environment
To enjoy this board to it fullest your computer needs Java Runtime Environment. This program, depending on your computer's manufacturer may or may not come with your computer.
To download it just go to this page...
Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 2
Click the Accept License Agreement button and then download the file that is appropriate for your computer.
After downloading click on Open and the program will install itself - you won't need to do anything else. Periodically it will automatically update itself.
How to Create a Poll (written by Ellen)
1. Press the New Topic button
2. Create a Topic title. This goes on the thread page. You can enter an optional subtitle.
3. Click Poll Options below the Topic Title/Description box
4. Enter a Poll Title - this goes in a bar above the poll
5. Click Add Poll Question - this goes above the choices
6. If someone can enter more than one answer, click by Multiple Choice Question?
7. Enter the options. Click Add Poll Choice to add more options.
8. In the text box (where you normally post), enter anything else you want about the poll. This will go in the first post in the topic.
9. Click Close Poll Form
10. Click Post New Topic
